About The Event
Psycho Ape! Synopsis: A killer gorilla escapes from the Detroit zoo and goes on a murdering spree. Shot for $7,500 on MiniDV tape in 2019, this microbudget slasher comedy pays homage to classic cheesy films made by Ed Wood, Troma Entertainment, and Mel Brooks-style spoof movies. It's a guy in a crappy gorilla costume killing people with bananas! The epitome of silly low budget horror movies.
Magnum Opus: The .MOVie Synopsis: Heavily inspired by Jackass, CKY, and The Tom Green Show, this 63 minute long compilation of stunts, pranks, and skits performed by a group of childhood friends was shot on VHS, Hi-8, MiniDV, and Digital HD from 2002-2017 and recently edited together in chronological order. They grow older as the quality of the footage gets better. It's "Boyhood meets Jackass."
Bio: Addison Binek is from Royal Oak, Michigan and attended film school at the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan in 2011. In addition to Psycho Ape! and Magnum Opus: The .MOVie, he has also created two different movie riffing shows in the style of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax. "Movies to Watch on a Rainy Afternoon" fuses movie reviewing with movie riffing, and features "best of the worst" clips from cheesy B-movies edited together into 15-20 minute long video reviews with jokes and commentary recorded over the featured clips. "Tromasterpiece Theatre" was made for Troma Entertainment, and are feature length movie riffs of Troma films with a theater usher and his puppet pals, a popcorn bucket and film reel, cracking wise while watching Troma films. 132 episodes of Movies to Watch on a Rainy Afternoon can be found on YouTube, as well as the two episodes of Tromasterpiece Theatre.
